ARET Group Unveils New OB Trailer for NEP Europe, Setting a New Benchmark in Broadcast Vehicle Engineering with IP ST 2110

Designed and built entirely in-house, the new production unit introduces ARET’s Box-over-Box technology, redefining space, flexibility and comfort for large-scale outside broadcast operations.

ARET Group, Italian coach builder and system integrator, expert in the design and construction of outside broadcast vehicles and mobile production units, today announces the official launch of a new OB trailer built for NEP Europe, one of the world’s leading media services providers for live sports and entertainment. The unit will make its public debut at IBC Show 2026 in Amsterdam, where it will be open for guided tours throughout the event.

The vehicle was conceived, engineered and manufactured entirely from scratch by ARET Group, with coachbuilding handled by ARET Coachworx, the division responsible for the structural and mechanical integrity of every unit that carries the ARET name. From chassis to final fit-out, the trailer represents the full scope of ARET’s in-house capability: nothing outsourced, nothing off-the-shelf.

Box-over-Box: A New Standard in Onboard Space

At the heart of this new unit is Box-over-Box, ARET’s proprietary architecture for maximising usable interior volume without compromising the vehicle’s structural performance on the road. The result is one of the widest and most spacious OB trailers in its class, comfortably accommodating more than 30 production professionals working side by side, with room to spare for equipment racks, workstations and circulation.

Rather than treating space as a constraint to be managed, Box-over-Box treats it as a design opportunity. The layout gives production teams the freedom to configure control rooms, galleries and technical areas the way they actually work, not the way the vehicle dictates. It’s a shift from designing trucks around equipment to designing trucks around people.

Italian Craftsmanship, Purpose-Built for Live Production

Beyond the engineering, what distinguishes this trailer is the quality of its execution. Every interior surface, cable run and workstation reflects ARET’s approach to coachbuilding as a craft rather than an assembly process, a level of finish and attention to detail rooted in Italian manufacturing tradition, applied to one of the most demanding vehicle categories in the industry: mobile broadcast production.

The cabin design balances functionality with genuine comfort, recognising that OB trailers are not just technical infrastructure, they are the workplace for production crews during some of the longest and most high-pressure days in live television.

A Partnership Built on Trust

“This project represents everything ARET stands for: complete control over design, engineering and craftsmanship. Building a unit of this scale for a partner like NEP is a responsibility we take seriously, and Box-over-Box is our answer to what modern live production really needs ; space, comfort and reliability, built the Italian way.”

Umberto Asti, President & CEO, ARET Group

The new trailer will support NEP’s operations across Europe and will be showcased for the first time to the industry at IBC 2026, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the Box-over-Box concept firsthand.
